Changes

It became clear to me in June/July that my shoulder would NOT be up to the movements required of heavy fighting. Therefore, after MUCH dithering, whining and soul searching, I sold my entire heavy kit, replaced all my light gear, and returned to the fencing field. VERY slowly. I returned to the fencing field for the first time at Marinus Investiture. SUCCESS! Turns out I'm not (quite) as slow as I thought I'd be and my native aggression makes up for some small part of my long absence from the field.

Who know a shoulder could cause such trouble?

Well, it's been months since Pennsic and I'm not back out on the field yet. Made it to one practice where I did some spear-work left handed since, you guessed it, my shoulder was still messed up.

I have gotten a hold of some good exercises which I am now doing religiously and the shoulder has finally gotten off that plateau I hit a month or 2 ago. And no, I have NOT spoken to a doctor about it. I am torn between pursuing spear and sparing my shoulder, and getting back into sword & board now that my shoulder is better.

Of course, these questions are purely moot unless I actually start practicing again.
